IP Services helped ITPI research hundreds of IT organizations in order to identify the practices and procedures that are proven to improve IT system availability. Using this research ITPI published the VisibleOps book in 2003. This book was written using the common traits of the top performers in managing their IT organizations to improve availability, stability and uptime.

Visible Ops Handbook and Visible Ops Security are published by the IT Process Institute. Visible Ops Handbook has become the de facto standard on how IT organizations manage business-critical IT systems.
